In 1952, the Joseph L. Rozier Machinery Co. moved its operations to central Florida to represent the Caterpillar product line in Orlando. The decision to make the move to Florida was built on the speculation of future growth in the area, speculation that was, of course, fully realized.

In a trade journal dated December 1952, the Rozier Company announced it would represent the complete line of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment as well as gasoline and diesel powered engines for 20 Florida counties. "A branch office will be maintained in Tampa," the company journal read, "so as to give complete service to contractors, cities and industrial users from the East Coast to the Gulf."

Mr. Rozier remained active in the company until his passing in the 1970's, when Mr. Rozier's son-in-law, G. Robert Blanchard, took the helm. In 1982, seeing the same opportunity in South Carolina as in Florida 30 years before, Blanchard Machinery Company was founded. Robert Blanchard remained active in the South Carolina dealership until 1996, when his son Joe Blanchard took over as President.

Since opening its doors the company has used a simple philosophy to become the major supplier of equipment and engines in South Carolina: Earn customers' loyalty by providing the highest quality and greatest value products and services in such a way that customers enjoy doing business with them.

"It's a common sense approach to doing business.", President Joe Blanchard says. "We believe in treating our customers the way we would like to be treated if we were the customer. We want to provide value."

South Carolina has experienced rapid growth over the last decade, and Blanchard Machinery has evolved with it. Progressing as business has dictated, the company has replaced old locations, established new ones, and expanded current facilities and services. But most important, Blanchard Machinery is always keeping an eye on delivering to our customers what they need to keep operating their business at a peak level.

To sum it up, as we're well into our third decade of doing business, our history is one of growth and opportunity, and we remain well-positioned to meet the demands and requirements of our customers.
