Bad Creek Dam
Duke Power-owned Bad Creek Generation Station is a 1,065-megawatt pump storage facility located in Oconee County, South Carolina. In operation since 1991, the facility generates power when water from a top lake is released into underground power tunnels that drive turbines connected to generators. At periods of low demand for electricity, operators refill the lake by spinning the turbines in reverse.
Blanchard helped to make this dam possible by supplying and maintaining more than 100 machines, establishing an onsite Parts warehouse, and providing dedicated service technicians. We helped ensure that the plant ran smoothly at all times by establishing an overnight parts delivery system.
