Blanchard Machinery is expanding its ability to support customers across South Carolina with the opening of its new South Columbia parts and service headquarters in Gaston, South Carolina.
Located at 251 15th Street in Gaston, the new facility is set to open October 5, 2026. The 196,000 square foot facility sits on a 62 acre campus and brings together parts, service, rebuild, machining, hydraulic and training operations under one climate controlled roof.
Designed to support customers throughout South Carolina and the surrounding region, South Columbia will serve as a centralized service hub for Blanchard Machinery. From routine parts needs to major machine and component rebuilds, the facility expands the resources available to customers while bringing specialized operations together in one location.
At the center of South Columbia is a significant expansion of Blanchard Machinery’s service and rebuild capabilities.
The facility includes 11 superbays with the capacity to support up to 44 machines, along with a dedicated machine shop superbay. South Columbia can accommodate five to six machine rebuilds simultaneously and includes dedicated areas for field service and lube service operations. Approximately 105 technicians will work throughout the facility.
Specialized services available through South Columbia include:
These operations allow South Columbia to support both customers and Blanchard Machinery locations across the state, providing centralized access to specialized service capabilities.
The facility also significantly expands Blanchard’s testing and repair capabilities. A new dynamometer provides 3,500 horsepower of continuous testing capacity and up to 4,500 horsepower for 10 minute testing intervals. The hydraulic operation includes 60,000 foot pound hydraulic benches capable of servicing the largest hydraulic excavators operating within Blanchard’s territory.
Parts support is another major focus of the new South Columbia facility.
The warehouse provides 1.5 million cubic feet of space with approximately 38,000 parts storage locations. Three Vertical Lift Modules account for approximately 25,000 of those locations, helping automate parts storage and delivery. An advanced Warehouse Management System and integrated conveyor system further support the movement of parts throughout the facility.
Customers will also have access to a retail parts showroom with fluids, filters, maintenance items and support from Retail Parts Specialists. A full service hydraulic hose shop will provide the ability to manufacture custom hoses while customers wait.
Together, the expanded inventory, additional storage capacity and new warehouse technology are designed to improve parts availability and help customers get the support they need more efficiently.
South Columbia was designed with the service process in mind.
Rather than separating parts, machining, hydraulic service, repair and rebuild operations across multiple buildings, the facility brings these functions together under one roof. An assembly line style workflow allows work to move more efficiently between specialized areas, reducing unnecessary movement and helping improve quality, efficiency and turnaround times.
The facility also includes a dedicated loading and unloading area capable of accommodating seven to eight tractor trailers at one time, helping streamline the movement of parts and equipment into and out of the facility.
By centralizing these resources, South Columbia is designed to help improve parts availability, increase service capacity, reduce downtime and return customers’ equipment to operation as quickly as possible.
Located in Gaston, the South Columbia branch is designed to support customers well beyond the immediate area.
The location will serve as a centralized resource for Blanchard Machinery operations across South Carolina, supporting customers in construction, mining, aggregates, infrastructure, manufacturing and energy. Its specialized service operations will also support Blanchard branch locations throughout the state.
South Columbia also includes a training and conference center designed for employee training, customer education, industry meetings and community events. The space can accommodate up to 70 people seated at tables or 100 people seated in chairs.
The South Columbia campus was built not only for today’s customer needs but also with future growth in mind.
Infrastructure and utilities are already in place to support future expansion of shop, warehouse and specialized service operations. Planned expansion areas, underground utility infrastructure and available acreage across the 62 acre campus will allow the facility to grow as customer needs evolve.
With expanded parts capacity, advanced service and rebuild capabilities, specialized shops and room for future growth, the new South Columbia parts and service headquarters represents a significant investment in Blanchard Machinery’s ability to serve customers across South Carolina. By bringing more resources, technology and expertise together in Gaston, the facility strengthens our ability to keep customers moving today while preparing to support their needs for years to come.
